Chapter 31
“And…and take care of Amma, okay? Don’t let her skip meals. And—”
“Mayu,” Reshmi cut in gently, cupping her cheek for a moment, “I got it. I’ll take care of her. You just focus on your exams.”
A small, wobbly sigh escaped Mayuri. She hated leaving… She hated the distance. And most of all, she hated the fear that always sat in her heart whenever she walked away from her sister and mother.
A few steps away, Dhananjay stood with Ashok. “Ashok,” he said, his jaw clenched as he maintained a respectful distance from the girls, “Don’t let her travel alone anywhere, don’t let her skip meals and send me updates. Frequently.”
Ashok nodded immediately, adjusting his luggage. “Of course, Ayya. I’ll keep an eye on her. Don’t worry.”
